Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist
Becky offers a range of massage techniques here at our clinic or in the convenience of your own home. These can be given for general maintenance, to resolve a specific problem, or to assist with ongoing physiotherapy.
Her treatments focus on improving soft-tissue quality, helping to increase blood supply by releasing tension, flushing out lactic acid, and realigning scar tissue. Soft-tissue massage can result in greater freedom of movement, which inevitably leads to a better quality of life.
Massage can be beneficial to everyone, not just people participating in sport.
Becky’s professional massage qualifications
Becky gained a Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage in 2015 through Sports Performance Services (SPS), a school based at Nottingham University which is accredited by the Association of Soft Tissue Therapists. She has worked both in the clinic at Willow House and on location. She is qualified to treat the entire body.
Becky has also qualified as an equine sports massage therapist, and therefore can work effectively with horse and rider. She has worked as an equine trainer and rider, so she understands the stresses which can be exerted on the soft tissues, as well as the benefits of regular massage.
Becky’s approach to massage therapy
By listening and conducting a thorough assessment, Becky can target the required areas using a wide range of techniques. This allows the muscles and connective tissue to release, while also working on the surrounding area. She offers the option of hot stones for achieving deep relaxation.
Becky is a member of the Sports Massage Association and the Equine Sports Massage Association.
