Physiotherapy during COVID-19

COVID-19

Physiotherapy during COVID-19

In line with government guidelines and our own best practice, we’ve made lots of changes to keep everyone safe during consultations and treatments.

This page and our video explain what you can expect. As we all begin easing out of lockdown, we hope things can become a lot more normal very soon.

Treatments available

During periods of lockdown, we’re open only for physiotherapy. Massage and personal training are closed.

When you arrive for treatment

There’s plenty of car parking space outside, so when you arrive please wait in your car until we come and get you – or, if you’ve walked, please take a seat on the bench outside. If you’re concerned that we may not have spotted you, please give us a call on 01526 860740.

Entering Willow House

Please wear a face covering/mask when coming indoors. You’ll spot the sanitising station as soon as you walk in, so please sanitise your hands thoroughly.

If you do need to wait for a short time, there are two suitably distanced chairs in reception.

Physiotherapy consultations and treatments

When you’re in the treatment room, consultations take place with the physiotherapist at their desk and with you sitting at least 6 feet away. For any hands-on work, your physiotherapist will wear the appropriate PPE.

Our PPE and sanitising routines

The physiotherapists at Willow House will sanitise their hands thoroughly before any physical contact with you. They will also wear single-use PPE as follows:

  • A plastic apron
  • A clinical face mask
  • Surgical gloves (please tell us if you have an allergy to latex)

All treatment tables are sanitised before every use and have a single-user paper covering. Pillows either have wipe-clean surfaces, which can be sanitised, or those made of fabric are changed after every use and then washed and ironed at high temperatures.
